Summary

CPA.com, a leading developer and distributor of technology and business solutions for the accounting and finance profession, is seeking an experienced Lead Manager – Communications, in collaboration with the Director- Corporate Communications, will work closely with executive leadership and internal SMEs to develop and execute multi-channel communication strategies and content focused on supporting key CPA.com corporate and thought leadership initiatives. The role will also provide additional communications team support for public relations, social media, the production of our bi-weekly AICPA Town Halls, and other related activities.

 

 

Key job responsibilities

 

  • Support execution of communications and public relations activities, working closely with the Director–Corporate Communications and PR and executive leadership, to bolster CPA.com’s story, image and reputation; give visibility to its leadership team; support its B2B offerings; and help marketing and sales teams raise awareness of products and flagship events.
  • Draft and develop press releases, articles, bylines, blogs, videos, social posts, infographics, web copy, executive presentations and other content that supports outbound engagement.
  • Manage the production of content, including coordinating with external agencies, writers, designers and/or multimedia teams, where needed.
  • Support development and maintenance of corporate assets including, but not limited to, corporate PPT decks, message guides, and branding style guides.
  • Support reviews of key channel content (blogs, newsletters, etc.) prior to deployment to ensure accuracy and alignment to corporate positioning, brand and style guides.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant trade, business and finance reporters and external influencers.
  • Support proactive PR announcements and launches, capitalizing on the news cycle to deliver timely and relevant content to advance CPA.com’s messaging and awareness of its products and solutions.
  • Track and report quantitative and qualitative metrics and results to evaluate the effectiveness of PR strategies and ensure quality standards.
  • Stay updated on current news, industry trends, market changes and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Keep up-to-date on current technologies and trends in content strategy, marketing and PR.
  • Other duties as needed.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and general ticketing systems.

 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; and at least 5-8 years related communications, journalism or marketing experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

  • Excellent writing skills and demonstrated success writing content for a variety of business needs including digital/social copy, bylines, press releases, blogs, emails, etc.
  • Familiarity with media measurement and distribution tools, including Cision.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment with the ability to work under tight deadlines, navigate competing priorities, and effectively adjust work plans to respond to emergent challenges or opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited oversight to accomplish agreed upon objectives and to evaluate results.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills required.
  • Ability to travel, if needed (<25%).
